2008 "AT THE MARKET SERIES" AND GENERAL INFORMATION

General Information:

Open each Saturday, 5:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Located off East Main Street, Downtown Rochester. Take either Railroad or Union Street to the Market. An exciting cornucopia of fresh seasonal produce direct from area farmers, crafts, dry goods, meat, fish and poultry products, as well as fresh dairy items and ethnic home baked foods. Located at its present site since 1905 and offering more than 250 vendor stalls. Call the Market at (585) 428-6907.

Downtown workers and others are also encouraged to take the #9 Bay Street bus to the Market on Tuesdays and Thursdays for noontime shopping.

Community Garage Sales and Super Fleas "at the Market"
Sundays 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
April 20, 27, May 4, June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24, September 7, 14, 28, October 12  (all in 2008)

Not only will bargain-hunters be able to take advantage of great values, bur residents throughout Metropolitan Rochester will be able to sell all the "treasures" that turn up during the cleaning of their garages, basements, and attics.  Service groups: Let this be a fundraiser!  Vending spaces of 10' by 30' are available for just $25.  For vending information, call 428-6907.  The community garage sale is another in an on-going series of Sunday events sponsored by the city at the market to provide more bargain-rich opportunities for shopping at Rochester's oldest and most charming outdoor marketplace.  Call (585) 428-6770. 

Chef's Day 'At the Market'
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. - Noon (Demos are weather dependent)
May 3 - October 25, 2008

Some of the area’s best known chefs will be at the market demonstrating recipes that take advantage of the season’s bounty. Come out and taste the beginning of the season’s crop. Flower City Days "At the Market"
Sundays, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., May 11, 18, 25, and June 1, 8, 2008.  Memorial Day weekend: Friday, May 23 and Monday May 26, 2008.

Largest selection of annuals and perennials in one location in New York State.  Sunday horticultural sales at the Rochester Public Market provide gardeners with a great  chance to buy annuals, perrenials, and vegetable plants direct from area growers.  Many other gardening items such as lawn figurines, lawn furniture, mulch, topsoil, tools, and trellis will be for sale.  Vendor spaces are still available, call (585) 428-6770.

On Sunday, the Market becomes a venue for Rochester's emerging young artists as well as established artisans to showcase and sell their works. All genres are welcomed at the juried exhibition whose goal is to provide an affordable alternative for artistic expression. The event also features dance and musical entertainment by some of Rochester's finest cultural and ethnic troupes. Holidays 'At the Market'

Sunday, December 7, 14, and 21, 2008, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The entire market is transformed into a holiday shoppers paradise.  Taste micro-brewed beer at Rohrbach's, shop for unique gifts at Station 55, and of course, visit the Market.  The event features numerous vendors with art, crafts, decorations, holiday food delicacies, gift items and stocking stuffers.  Bring the children for a visit with Santa and free horse-drawn sleigh rides will be available.
