The City of Rochester is preparing the design for improvements to the University Avenue Playground at the corner of Merriman Street and University Avenue. The project will include the removal of the existing play equipment and surfacing, and the installation of new play equipment with safety surfacing, paved walkways, new bench seating, bike racks and trash receptacles, and landscaping to enhance the open green space.
The outcome of the project will be the construction of park improvements to enhance the quality of life for residents of the University Merriman neighborhood. The improved playground will better serve the increasing demand for outdoor activities and passive greenspace in the City of Rochester. The redesign will meet the current needs of the neighborhood and city-wide users, and serve as an asset consistent with its setting in the University Merriman neighborhood.
