(Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012) – Mayor Thomas S. Richards, Deputy Mayor Leonard E. Redon, Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner R. Carlos Carballada, City Council Vice President Dana Miller and Councilmembers Elaine Spaull and Matt Haag joined the principals of Erdman Anthony today to cut a ceremonial ribbon celebrating the grand opening of the engineering firm’s corporate headquarters at the Culver Road Armory, 145 Culver Rd., Suite 200.
“I’m thrilled to be here to cut the ribbon for Erdman Anthony’s new headquarters,” said Mayor Richards. “The Armory redevelopment project has been a huge success, with tenants steadily moving in. I’m happy to see that long-time Rochester business Erdman Anthony chose this beautiful building for its new home.”
Erdman Anthony specializes in transportation engineering, civil engineering, facilities engineering and design services, construction support services and geospatial services. Founded in Rochester in 1954, Erdman Anthony operates branch offices in New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.
Erdman Anthony moved to the Culver Road Armory from their previous location on Brighton Henrietta Townline Road. The newly-redesigned Armory provided an attractive option that ended up being the right fit for the firm.
“We are proud to be a part of the growth of the city,” said Erdman Anthony President Curt W. Helman. “We are excited to once again call Rochester our home with a new headquarters in such an attractive facility at this outstanding location.”

Erdman Anthony is the second company since December to move into the recently redeveloped Armory. Occupying one-fourth of the Armory’s 100,000 sq. ft., Erdman Anthony will be the Armory’s largest tenant. Their offices were designed for function and efficiency and with respect for the beauty of the building and its historic ambience. The City assisted Erdman Anthony with funding from the Business Development Financial Assistance Program.
