Motorist Advisory - Memorial Day Parade to Affect Traffic Downtown

(Friday, May 25, 2018) – The annual Memorial Day Parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 28. Traffic on East Avenue and Main Street will be affected. The parade will begin at the intersection of East Avenue and Alexander Street, proceed down East Avenue to Main Street, proceed west on Main Street to S. Plymouth Avenue, and turn south on S. Plymouth Avenue to Broad Street between Exchange and Plymouth for disbandment. The route will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 10 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.

The parade will stage on nearby streets, including Alexander Street from Charlotte Street to Gardiner Park, Sibley Place, Strathallan Park from University Avenue to Prince Street, Prince Street from University Avenue to East Avenue, East Avenue from Alexander to Goodman Street, and Meigs Street from Park Avenue to East Avenue. Staging streets will close at approximately 9:30 a.m. and reopen as the parade progresses.
