City of Rochester

News Release

(Monday, July 30, 2018) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) invite residents to the fifth annual Around the Town Neighborhood Ensemble Concert series this summer.

This partnership brings free classical, world-renowned music directly into city neighborhoods.

“I’m proud of our continued partnership with the RPO to bring free, family-friendly outdoor concerts to neighborhoods around the city,” said Mayor Warren. “The RPO Around the Town Neighborhood Ensemble Concerts offer an opportunity for families and neighbors to experience the joy of classical music right in their neighborhoods. These events bolster our efforts to promote safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, which lead to more jobs and better educational opportunities for our citizens.”

“The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is deeply committed to serving this community,” says RPO President & CEO Ralph Craviso. “We thank Mayor Warren for once again underwriting these wonderful neighborhood concerts and for her continued support of our overarching mission to contribute to the quality of life in Rochester.”

Performances feature various ensembles made up of RPO musicians and take place Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The last show for the summer will take place on:

• Tuesday, July 31: RPO Marimba Band at Maplewood Rose Garden - 250 Maplewood Ave. (Rain location: Edgerton R-Center, 41 Backus St.)
