News Release Application Deadline Extended for Nuisance Advisory Board Membership

(Monday, Aug. 20, 2018) – The application deadline for volunteers interested in serving on the City’s new Nuisance Advisory Board (NAB) has been extended to Aug. 31.


The NAB will provide citizen guidance to the administration of the Nuisance Abatement Program. Under the program, a business or property in the city may receive points for violations that constitute a public nuisance. Failure to correct nuisance activity after exceeding a point threshold may result in the closure of a business or property. The NAB will oversees a review procedure for property owners to appeal any points assigned to their properties.

The nine-member board will include one business owner and one resident from each of the Northeast, Northwest, East, and South Districts and one resident from the Center City. They will meet monthly to review cases submitted by the NSC.
