(Monday, Oct. 22, 2018) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren has selected the members of the Judicial Screening Committee, which will review candidates to fill the City Court Judicial vacancy.

Members are:

  •  Hon. Joseph D. Valentino, Retired NY Appellate Division Justice
  •  T. Andrew Brown, Brown & Hutchinson
  •  Rev. Lewis Stewart, United Christian Leadership Ministry
  •  Sheila Gaddis, Rochester Black Bar Association
  •  Michael Wolford, Past President, Monroe County Bar Association
  •  Connie Walker, Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys
  •  Timothy R. Curtin, City Corporation Counsel (chairman)
The Judicial Screening Committee will conduct interviews of local attorneys interested in being appointed to Rochester’s City Court. Once that process is completed, the committee will forward three names to Mayor Warren for her consideration.

Mayor Warren has asked the committee to complete their work within 30-60 days.

Given the timing of the current court vacancy, a newly appointed judge will stand for election in 2019.

Interested candidates may submit resumes, a cover letter and writing sample to Timothy R. Curtin, Corporation Counsel, 30 Church Street, Room 400, Rochester, NY 14614 before Nov. 4.
