News Release - City to Host Free Family Friendly New Year’s Eve Celebration Downtown

(Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018) – The City of Rochester invites you to ring in 2019 with New Year’s Eve celebrations Downtown. This year’s free activities include:

New Year’s Eve Skate: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 353 Court St.; 5 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.: Free admission. $3 skate rental. Family skate: 5 to 7 p.m.; Adults only (over 16 years old) skate: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Family New Year’s Eve Party at the Riverside Convention Center 123 E. Main St.; 6 to 9 p.m. Join family and friends to ring in the New Year with a DJ Dance Party, giant bounce houses, obstacle course, airbrush tattoos, photo booths, caricature artists, a magician and more. Meet popular costumed characters, including a princess, a snowman and a superhero. Snacks and beverages will available for purchase. (Note new time. Last year was 7 to 10 p.m.). 

Free Parking

Free parking will be offered from 6 to 11 p.m. at the following garages:

 

  • South Ave. Garage, 39 Stone St.
  • Washington Square Garage, 111 Woodbury Blvd.
  • Sister Cities Garage, 28 N. Fitzhugh St.
  • Court St. Garage, 194 Court St.
  • Mortimer St. Garage, 25 N. Clinton Ave.
