Office of the Deputy Mayor

Deputy Mayor Leonard E. RedonThe Deputy Mayor, as the highest appointed official of the Administration, acts on the Mayor’s behalf in her absence; assists the Mayor in day-to-day operations; and has direct oversight of the majority of City departments including:

The Deputy Mayor also oversees the Office of Management & Budget and the Parking & Municipal Code Violations Bureau.   

Leonard E. Redon was sworn in as Deputy Mayor on July 13, 2011. Deputy Mayor Redon most recently served as Vice President of Western Operations at Paychex, Inc. where he began working in 2001. Deputy Mayor Redon joined Paychex after a 28-year career at Eastman Kodak, where he held the titles of President of Qualex, Inc. (a Kodak company); President of Customer Equipment Services; Vice President of Government and Education Markets; Vice President of Markets Development, U.S. and Canada Region; Regional Vice President Midwest and Executive Assistant to the Chairman and President. His last position at Kodak was Director of Rochester Area Operations, Vice President Eastman Kodak.

Deputy Mayor Redon graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., where he has served as a trustee at WPI for the last 18 years and was recently elected as a trustee emeritus.

Deputy Mayor Redon has a deep commitment to providing minorities and city youth access to quality education. Mr. Redon currently serves on the boards of the Monroe Community College Foundation, the Finger Lakes Health System Agency and the George Eastman House Museum of Photography and Film. He has served on many other local boards including the Center for Youth Services, the Otetiana Council Boy Scouts and the Hochstein School of Music and Dance.
