News Release - High Falls Centers Announces Grand Opening of Max at High Falls

City of Rochester

News Release

(May 12, 2009) - Mayor Robert J. Duffy and R. Carlos Carballada, City’s Commissioner of Economic Development, joined partners Stuart Baker and Chef Tony Gullace at the grand opening of Max at High Falls in the High Falls Centers at 60 Brown’s Race today.

“Max at High Falls is a welcome addition to the High Falls Centers and will once again bring special events to the breathtaking backdrop of the Falls,” Mayor Duffy said. “The historic High Falls district is seeing a great resurgence and this is one more example.”

One year ago, the City of Rochester issued a Request for Proposal for the facility known as the High Falls Centers.  S. E. Baker & Co., was chosen because of Stuart Baker’s numerous years of property management experience in Rochester and the partnership with Tony Gullace of the Max Rochester Restaurant Group.

While other proposed uses were being considered, having the opportunity to capitalize on both the local experience of Stuart Baker and the success of award-winning Chef Tony Gullace as a local restaurateur is a winning partnership for all involved.  In addition, revisiting the High Falls Centers for special events, will once again allow the general public to have access to one of the most spectacular views in the City – the Historic High Falls.

The opening of Max at High Falls will create between 15 and 25 jobs each time an event is held at the site.
