The Executive Deputy Chief (EDC), George Markert, is the Chief of Staff assigned to the Office of the Chief of Police. The EDC is 
responsible for the coordination of Departmental activities,liaison with the City of Rochester Bureau of Human Relations Management, Labor Relations and representing the Department for all labor related matters.
The EDC supervises the support staff in the Office of the Chief of Police.
