34 year old male charged with Arson on October 19, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force has charged a Byron GREENE, 34 year old male, of 164 Albemarle Street with Arson 1st (A1 Felony) for a fire which occurred at 14 Frederick Street on July 17, 2009 at 1:50 a.m.
On July 17th, 2009 the Fire Department had responded for a fire in which more than one incendiary device was thrown at the occupied single family residence at 14 Frederick St. No injuries were reported at this incident.
Arson arrest of a 28 year old female on October 14, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force and Fire Investigators arrested and charged Zulesma FLORES, a 28 year old female, of 135 Jerold Street with Arson in the 5th degree, an A Misdemeanor. FLORES is accused of setting the property of another on fire inside 56 Delmonte St.
Firefighters and Police responded to 56 Delmonte Street at 4:59 p.m. for the report of something burning in the house. No structural damage or injuries were reported.
Repeated false calls to 911 on September 17, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force has charged a Shandell EDWARDS, male age 40 of 193 First Street with six counts of Falsely Reporting an Incident 2nd, each count is an (E Felony).
Mr. Edwards was arrested on charges that he repeatedly called 911 to report fires at 121 Masseth St. Each call resulted in an emergency response by the Rochester Fire Department. Calls originated on September 8th and the days that followed.
Rochester Police are expectedt to file additional charges.
Female charged with Criminal Mischief and Arson September 16, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force charged a Treynada COSTLEY, female age 24 of 150 Van Auker St. with Attempted Arson in the Third Degree (D Felony) and Criminal Mischief 2nd (D Felony) for physically damaging a motor vehicle and attempting to damage same motor vehicle by fire at 333 First St. on August 14, 2009.
The vehicle that was damaged was not owned by Ms. Costley. The Fire Department responded at 1:50 a.m. for that incident. No injuries were reported.
Teen charged with arson on September 16, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force charged a Sheltiere Lamar SHEPHERD, male age 19 of 11 Lincoln St. with Arson in the 3rd degree (C Felony) for setting an incendiary fire at 1563 Clifford Ave. on July 23, 2009 during the evening hours.
The Fire Department responded to 1562 Clifford Ave. July 24, 23009 at 1:45 a.m. The fire caused damage to the 2nd floor bathroom of the single family residence at that location. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
Man arraigned to appear in City Court for Meigs Street fire on September 11, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task force and Fire Investigation Unit charged a Darryl Timothy PARKER, male age 46 of 512 Meigs St. with Arson in the 2nd Degree (B Felony) for setting more than one incendiary fire inside the occupied multi-unit apartment structure at 512 Meigs St.
The Fire Department responded to this address at 3:13 a.m. for the report of a fire. The structure suffered slight fire damage inside the downstairs unit. No injuries were reported.
Arrest for Hazelwood Terrace fire on September 10, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force and the Fire Investigation Unit charged a Elba DIAZ, female age 46 of 33 Hazelwood Terrace with Arson in the 2nd Degree (B Felony) for setting an incendiary fire inside the occupied multi-unit apartment building located at 1616 N. Clinton Ave. after a domestic dispute at that location.
Fire Fighters responded to the address at 4:53 a.m. hours for the fire. The fire caused damage in the hallway of that building and no injuries were reported.
Female charged with arson for Northview Terrace fire on July 27, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit and the Arson Task force has charged a Chantal SMITH-OLISON, age 36 of 118 Northview Terrace with Arson in the 5th Degree (A Misdemeanor) for allegedly setting a fire at 118 Northview Terrace during a domestic incident.
Fire damaged furniture inside the residence, with no injuries reported. A 38 year old male at that location also faces Criminal Mischief charges related to the domestic incident.
42 year old male arrested for Falsely Reporting an Incident; Man faces additional charges on July 16, 2009: The Rochester Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit and Arson Task Force charged a Shawn M. WILLIAMS, age 42 of 13 Lochner Place with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 2nd Degree, E Felony.
Mr. Williams allegedly called in a false report of a fire inside the structure at 107 Locust St. at 7:47p.m. The Rochester Fire Department responded with a full Structure Fire Assignment and upon arrival found no fire or pending emergency.
Rochester Police also responded for a domestic at same location. Mr. Williams faces other charges as well.
