News Release - Maplewood Rose Weekend Seeks Vendors

(Monday, March 8, 2010) – The Maplewood Neighborhood Association is seeking vendors of arts, crafts and horticultural-related items to participate in the 20th annual Rose Celebration weekend. The event is to be held on June 19 and 20 in the historic Maplewood Rose Garden. Thousands are expected to attend to revel in the beauty of over 5,000 roses of 300-plus varieties, partake in the workshops and tours and experience the beauty and history of the Lower Gorge of the Genesee.

The Rose Weekend kicks off Friday, June 18 at 7 p.m. with a community celebration on Driving Park Bridge. Later that evening visitors will be treated to wine and jazz in the Maplewood Garden located at 100 Maplewood Avenue. Saturday and Sunday will feature horticultural workshops, storytellers, children’s activities and strolling entertainment. Saturday will also include both a tour of the Lower Gorge and the Maplewood neighborhood. Sunday will feature a Father’s Day concert and picnic in the afternoon.

The fee for booth space for the weekend is $50. Vending hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The committee reserves the right to limit vendors to articles deemed appropriate. For an application, go to www.maplewood.org.
