FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(January 10, 2011) - The Business & Social Sciences Division of the Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County and the SUNY College at Brockport Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are sponsoring a free program on Wednesday morning, January 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kate Gleason Auditorium of the Bausch & Lomb Public Library Building located at 115 South Avenue, Rochester.

Carla Vazquez, Certified Business Advisor, and Jon Lazenby, Attorney, will present “Legal Considerations for Starting a Small Business.” Those attending will learn about key legal issues that need to be addressed when starting a small business. Topics discussed will include choice of business entity, tax considerations, intellectual property, contracts and more. The program is appropriate for both first-time entrepreneurs and those who have recently started a small business. Mr. Lazenby is a lawyer with a solo practice that counsels small businesses.
