News Release - Market Gears Up for the Season’s Busiest Week

Flower Days at the Market(Wednesday, May 25, 2011) —The Rochester Public Market will host what is historically the season’s biggest weekend starting Thursday, May 26 through Memorial Day, Monday May 30.

The Market will be open six consecutive days, featuring a combination of traditional Market shopping days and special events.

  • Thursday, May 26; Saturday, May 28; and Tuesday, May 31 are traditional Market shopping days, offering a wide array of fresh produce and everything you need for your Memorial Day get-together.
  • The famous Flower City Days at the Market continue on Friday, May 27; Sunday, May 29; and Monday, May 30 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day) with over 300 vendors each day offering annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and more to help you get your yard and garden in shape for the year. Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County will be on hand Sunday to answer all your gardening questions. The Public Market parking lot shuttle will make its seasonal debut on Saturday, May 28 – grab a free ride.

Experience Rochester’s most unique and diverse shopping venue, shop local and support local growers. The Market, located at 280 N. Union St., is open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 and Tuesday, May 31; 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, Sunday, May 29, and Monday, May 30.
