News Release

(Wednesday, July 13, 2011) – The Lou Gramm Band takes the stage on Friday, July 15 as part of the WCMF Dave Kane 30th Anniversary Show at the Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St. The event is the second in this summer’s Night Markets and Band on the Bricks series. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for Night Market shopping, along with a full array of street meat and ethnic delicacies. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair but to leave the coolers and pets at home.

Gramm was the vocalist for the rock band Foreigner for over 26 years and also found success with a solo career. Gramm was the lead vocalist for many of Foreigner’s hit songs including “Feels Like the First Time,” “Double Vision” and “Juke Box Hero.” Following the death of his parents, Lou Gramm formed the Lou Gramm Band with his two brothers and the group plays a sampling of Foreigner hits, songs from Lou Gramm’s solo period and some original material.

Opening the show will be singer/songwriter Tommy Brunett, a native of Upstate New York. Famous for his live performances, Brunett draws inspiration from the sounds of Johnny Cash, Tom Petty and Tom Waits. The Coupe De Villes will play in the middle slot of the show. The five-man rhythm and blues band was formed in Rochester in 1985 and blends the emotion of Chicago blues with the driving power of rock ‘n’ roll.

WXXI-TV will be on site recording the entire show for season three of its OnStage music series, scheduled to premiere in 2012. OnStage is a television and radio series that spotlights a wide range of musical talent from Upstate New York. To learn more about the series visit www.wxxi.org/onstage.
