News Release - Public Market Prepares for 7th Annual Artist Row Fair

(Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011) – The Friends of the Rochester Public Market will be hosting the 7th Annual Artist Row Arts Fair on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St.

This year’s event features more than 175 local artists and artisans, live music, food from favorite Market vendors and a children’s “Chalk Zone” sponsored by the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA.

“We are proud to continue the tradition of providing a venue for Rochester’s emerging artists,” said Mary Lou Lawson, president of the Friends of the Rochester Public Market. “For six years, Artist Row has introduced new and exciting talent to the Rochester community.”

Artist Row is supported in part by Wonder Windows/BSL Direct, Red Bottle Communications, Access Lifts and Ramps, Maidstone Coffee, Juan and Maria’s Empanada Stop, Twin Oaks Landscaping, Excellus BCBS, Rohrbach Brewery, Summit Federal Credit Union and the City of Rochester. The “Friends” are appreciative of in-kind donations from Sue’s Spices, Union Street Bakery, Java’s at the Market, Davis Honey and Flower City Bakery.

Friends of the Rochester Public Market is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2005 to celebrate the Centennial of the Rochester Public Market. Its mission is to promote and support the Market with activities such as Artist Row, Veggie Valet, the Market Trolley, Market tours and the administration of the Market Token Program.
