Rochester Police Chief Sheppard to Appear on CityWise

(Wednesday, June 20, 2012) – Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard will be featured on the Thursday, June 21 episode of CityWise to discuss current topics within the city and the department.

CityWise is a city-sponsored public affairs program dedicated to keeping the community informed about what is taking place in Rochester. Hosted by Shiera Coleman, this half-hour talk show focuses on the city’s most interesting personalities and relevant issues, with interviews of area elected officials, community and business leaders, visiting VIPs, artists and entertainers.

To make sure the Police Department is keeping in touch with the community Chief Sheppard will be informing viewers about important issues occurring in the city. Chief Sheppard will be incorporating the “Policing in the Spirit of Service” philosophy into this conversation. This philosophy represents the Department’s commitment to providing excellent services to all of the Rochester community.

The Chief will discuss the recent increase in homicides in the city, as well as some other crime statistics for the year. He will also discuss various reasons for increased shootings in Rochester and the measures being taken to resolve this issue.

CityWise airs Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 9:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. on City 12. It can also be seen on Sunday mornings at 8 a.m. on cable channel 18.
