(Friday, June 29, 2012) – Mayor Thomas S. Richards today announced that Government Fleet magazine has awarded the City’s Division of Equipment Services the No. 5 ranking on its annual list of Top 100 Municipal Fleets in North America.
The City fleet ranked No. 18 on last year’s list. In addition, Assistant Operations Director Mike Quattrone was recently featured in the magazine as a nominee for Fleet Manager of the Year.
“I want to congratulate Mike Quattrone and his entire team in the Division of Equipment Services,” said Mayor Richards. “Their consistent recognition and continual advancement on the prestigious list demonstrates that they take extraordinary pride in their work and are determined to deliver the best service possible for the citizens of Rochester. I also want congratulate Mike for being nominated for Fleet Manager of the Year. We are fortunate to have administrators of this caliber working for us.”
Paul Holahan, Commissioner of Environmental Services, said: “I’m proud of Mike and the team and want to thank them for their commitment to excellence. They play a critical role in our ability to deliver high quality services at a reasonable price to our customers.”
Mr. Quattrone said he and his team are honored by the ranking. “We strive every day to be the best at what we do in our industry. I am very proud of all the hard work by everyone. This is truly a team effort.”
The 100 Best Fleets List is based on 12 criteria including accountability; use of technology and information; performance recognition; collaboration; doing it right the first time; and a quick and efficient turnaround. More than 38,000 government fleets are eligible to apply for a spot on the list.
