(Monday, Nov. 19, 2012) - The City of Rochester’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services has been recognized with several awards by the Genesee Valley Recreation and Park Society for its recreational, promotional and cultural programs.
The City was presented with an Exceptional Program Award for the “Food Truck Rodeo,” an Outstanding Facility Awards for the “Public Market and Rails to Trails,” program, a Special Publications Award for its “River Romance” booklet and a Volunteerism Award for logistic support provided to the Southwest Colts—a Western New York Pop Warner Football team.

These prestigious awards affirm the remarkable service and excellent programs provided by the department,” said Mayor Thomas S. Richards. “The Genesee Valley Recreation and Park Society recognize what many of us already know— Rochester offers some of the greatest recreational and cultural amenities of any city in America.”
