(Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013) – Mayor Thomas S. Richards is pleased to announce that the City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services will offer free ice skating lessons for children ages 4 through 12, at the Manhattan Square Park ice rink, 353 Court St.

Free group lessons will be offered at noon, for six consecutive Saturdays, starting on January 12. The 20 minute lessons will be followed by 40 minutes of practice time on the ice. Lessons will be led by staff members from the Go Figure Skating School, certified by the United States Figure Skating Association. Participants will be grouped according to age and skill level and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.

Approximately 50 openings are available and registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, by calling 428-7541.
