News Release - MCLS MOBILE Access the Library on the Go with New App

Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County

News Release

June 19, 2013 - Have you ever been in line at the grocery store and suddenly remembered that you forgot to pick up the books for your child’s summer reading list? Whether waiting for the kids at baseball practice or sitting at the dentist, library patrons can now look up a book or DVD and reserve it with a tap of their smartphone or tablet.

The Monroe County Library System is pleased to announce MCLS Mobile, a free application that allows users to search the library catalog, check their account, place holds on books and DVDs, download e-books and e-audio books, view upcoming library events, locate the closest library and much more, all from their mobile device.

The mobile application is free in the Apple and Android app stores and is compatible with both Apple and Android operating systems for use on iPhones, iPads, Androids and most tablets. Search the stores for MCLS Mobile and select the app that has the library’s blue and white “bridge” logo.
