2014 Rochester Public Market Cookbook – Call for Recipes
Love to shop at the Rochester Public Market? Share your passion by submitting a recipe for consideration in the upcoming, second Rochester Public Market Cookbook.
At the Heart of It All – Sharing the Stories, the Recipes and the Love of the Rochester Public Market, produced and released by The Friends of the Rochester Public Market in 2012, was a huge hit, selling almost 6,000 copies. The new cookbook, to be released in the fall of 2014, will keep what was best from the original and build on its success.
The 2014 edition will again feature recipes from the Market’s farmers, vendors, and shoppers, as well as from notable local chefs. This time, the cookbook will include selections of recipes that highlight Market products from each season: from the first, eagerly-awaited spring produce, through the bountiful root and cruciferous vegetables of the fall and winter, and of course the Market’s year-round selection of meat and seafood, cheese, pasta, baked goods and spices.
Your submission must:
- Use ingredients that are readily available from the Rochester Public Market.
- Include both a complete list of ingredients (with amounts to use) and clear, step-by-step instructions.
Be easy to prepare at home.
- Include a short “story” about the recipe, it’s connection with the Market, or what makes it a family favorite. - This year, we’re especially interest in stories with a local or familial history angle.
- Taste absolutely delicious.
To submit a recipe for consideration, download a Cookbook Recipe Submission Form, or obtain a recipe submission form at the Friends of the Market website. Recipes must be submitted no later than December 13, 2013.
