News Release - Dewey Avenue to Close at 7 p.m. for Water Main Work

(Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013) – Beginning at 7 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Sept. 19, Dewey Avenue—between Driving Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue—will be closed to traffic until 7 a.m., Friday, Sept. 20 while a contractor for the City’s Water Bureau replaces a 40-foot section of 8-inch water pipe as part of the Driving Park Avenue water main project.

Traffic on Dewey Avenue will be detoured around the work area via Lake Avenue. Detour signs will be posted. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Driving Park Avenue will be maintained with the use of flaggers during this time. Local traffic will be maintained for businesses and residents within the work area.

RTS bus riders may call 288-1700 for detour routes and boarding locations. For more information, contact the City’s Senior Water Design Engineer Michael Bushart at 428-7567.
