News Release - City Snow Plowing Under Way

City of Rochester

News Release

(Thursday, January 2, 2014) – In order to promote safe travel and keep city streets clear for police, fire and emergency vehicles, City Environmental Services plow trucks are removing snow and salting main arterial roads. In addition, residential street snow plow routes are being serviced by private contractors.

Motorists are advised to strictly observe alternate, side and other posted parking regulations to facilitate snow and clean up efforts. Snowbound vehicles will hamper snow removal efforts. City Code requires that vehicles parked at curbside be moved at least every 12 hours.

Plowing contractors are reminded that it is illegal to push snow from private property into public sidewalks and streets.

More information on winter and snow parking rules can be found on the City’s website at www.cityofrochester.gov/snowparkingrules. For more information on City snow plowing and salting efforts, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/snowplowing.

Individuals with concerns about roadway snow and ice control can call 311 (428-5990 outside city limits).
