City of Rochester

News Release

(Wednesday, January 29, 2014) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren is inviting city youth ages 13 to 18 to register for a free, week-long Biz Kid$ business-education camp during Winter Recess, February 17 through 21, at Cobbs Hill Park’s Tay House Lodge. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Biz Kid$ Camp is sponsored by the Bureau of Recreation and provides youth with an opportunity to explore entrepreneurship through fun, fast-paced activities. Participants will develop a real business plan, learn how to promote it and learn how to manage their money and budget their time. Biz Kid$ camp also teaches youth work place etiquette. Campers will receive real business cards, a canvas briefcase, a calculator and a receipt book to help them start and maintain their businesses. The end of the week culminates with campers presenting their business plans to a review panel for a chance to win cash prizes.

Registration is required. For more information, including an application, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/bizkids or call 428-7371.
