News Release - Mayor Lovely A. Warren Welcomes City Grill and Ballroom384 to East End at Ribbon Cutting Celebration

(Thursday, May 8, 2014) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren, City Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner Delmonize “Del” Smith, New York State Senator Joseph E. Robach, City Council President Loretta Scott, Council Vice President Dana Miller and City Councilmember Elaine Spaull joined John Billone, Jr. of Flower City Management and Alan Russell, Managing Partner, for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of City Grill restaurant and Ballroom384 event planning in the City’s East End.

The completion of City Grill and Ballroom384 is part of the redevelopment of the East Avenue Inn & Suites, which started in the fall of 2011. The newly renovated Boutique hotel opened in the fall of 2012 with 15 staff. The building first opened as the Treadway Inn in 1955.

“The addition of City Grill and Ballroom384 further solidifies East Avenue and Alexander Street as a restaurant and entertainment destination,” said Mayor Warren. “I’m especially pleased that 75 new jobs have been created as a result of the restaurant’s opening and I am confident that City Grill will be successful at this great location.” The project benefited from a low interest loan through the City and also received COMIDA benefits.

Owner Michael Tascione and Managing Partner Alan Russell combine more than 55 years of experience in restaurant, bar and event planning. City Grill features ample of space for entertaining, including a 1,500 square foot patio with an outdoor fireplace and fire pit. The inside offers casual dining at the bar and a quaint dining area that seats approximately 50 people. The restaurant has a wood fired pizza oven with a partially open-air kitchen and the menu features a selection of classics including prime rib of beef, steaks, fresh seafood, sandwiches and entrée salads. The full-service bar includes a selection of artisan cocktails, beer and wine.

Ballroom384 event planning offers all aspects of event planning, banquets served by professional uniformed wait staff, fine house table linens, china, glassware and cutlery and assistance with flowers and other arrangements. The modern and sophisticated ballroom has room for 200 guests.

City Grill is open Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to midnight; Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
