City Celebrates Grand Opening of Apogee Wine Bar

(Friday, September 12, 2014) – City Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner Delmonize “Del” Smith, City Councilmember Elaine Spaull and New York Senators Ted O’Brien and Joseph Robach joined new owners Simone Boone and Patrick Dutton today for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Apogee Wine Bar at 151 Park Avenue.

Owners Simone and Patrick wanted a business that was a perfect combination of themselves and their passion for wine. Apogee strives to be both a premier wine bar and local neighborhood gathering place where patrons can have a good time with their friends while sampling unique wines from all over the world.

“Apogee Wine Bar is a great addition to one of Rochester’s most eclectic commercial districts,” said Commissioner Smith. “I want to welcome Simone and Patrick to the Park Avenue Neighborhood and wish them much success.”

Apogee features many wines that will not be found on any other wine menu in the City. They also have four wine dispensing and preservation systems that enable them to offer a broad range of wines by the glass.

At 540 square feet, Apogee is a microbar with an intimate ambiance. The custom interior makes for an intimate experience and a great date night destination.

“Park Avenue offers a wonderful opportunity to become immersed in the culturally rich and sophisticated neighborhood where people can take a journey on foot and experience a neighborhood bar that feels very metropolitan” said Simone.

Apogee is open Tuesday through Saturday, 4 to 11 p.m.
