Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to Offer Free Concerts at City R-Centers

(Friday, October 10, 2014) – The City of Rochester and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will be offering two free concerts as part of the RPO’s Around the Town fall concert series. Guest conductor Paul Shewan will lead Musical Stories: From Star Wars to Scheherazade at the David F. Gantt R-Center, 700 North St. at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.15 and at the Edgerton R-Center, 41 Backus St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16. Both concerts are free and no tickets are required.

The new “R-Centers” branding is the City of Rochester’s fresh approach to recreation and community centers. R-Centers provide safe, accessible environments where youth and adults can take advantage of first-rate programs and facilities designed to promote healthy living, education, creativity, self-discovery and positive relationships.
