Parades
The City of Rochester hosts a number of parades year round. Some of the major parades downtown are listed below along with their anticipated street closures. Visit their sites or call the parade organizers directly for more information.
St. Patrick's Day Parade & Runnin' of the Green Race - Saturday, March 16, 2024
The 5-mile road race—Runnin’ of the Green— will step off at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street between N. Clinton Avenue and East Avenue. The runners will proceed west on Main Street, turn south on Exchange Boulevard, turn east on Ford Street, then south on Wilson Boulevard to Fraternity Road. At that point, the runners will turn around and reverse their route back to Main Street.
The Parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. at East & Alexander, proceeds west on East Avenue, west on Main Street, and finishes at Main & Fitzhugh.
Street Closures:
The following street will be closed to traffic at 7 a.m. and will re-open after the parade is complete at approximately 3:30 p.m.
- Main Street from N. Clinton Avenue to East Avenue
- Main Street from N. Clinton Avenue to St. Paul Street
- South Avenue from Main Street to Broad Street
- Broad Street from South Avenue to Exchange Boulevard
- Exchange Boulevard from Broad Street to Ford Street
- Ford Street from Plymouth Avenue to Mt. Hope Avenue
- Wilson Boulevard from Ford Street to Fraternity Road
The parade route will be closed to traffic around noon and will reopen after the parade is complete, around 3:30 p.m. In addition to the parade route, the following streets will be closed during that time:
- Union Street from Broad Street to Charlotte Street
- Scio Street from Charlotte Street to East Avenue
- Broadway from East Avenue to Broad Street
- Chestnut Street from Broad Street to Main Street
- N. Clinton Avenue from Broad Street to Pleasant Street
- St. Paul Street from Pleasant Street to Main Street
- State Street from Andrews Street to Main Street
- Exchange Boulevard from Broad Street to Main Street
- Fitzhugh Street from Broad Street to Church Street
Memorial Day Parade - May 27, 2024
The Memorial Day parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. at East & Alexander, heads west on Main Street, and finishes at Main & Fitzhugh.
The parade route will be closed to traffic at 10 a.m. and will reopen after the parade is complete, around 1 p.m. Staging streets will be closed to traffic from approximately 8:30 to 11 a.m. with staggered openings as participants enter the parade.
The following streets will be closed for parade staging areas:
• East Avenue between Alexander Street and Arnold Park
• Sibley Place at East Avenue
• Meigs Street between Park Avenue and East Avenue
• Arnold Park from East Avenue to Park Avenue
• Strathallan Park from East Avenue to University Avenue
• Prince Street between East Avenue and College Avenue

Juneteenth Parade - June 15, 2024
The Juneteenth Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on the corner of Court Street & Chestnut Street, proceeds north on Chestnut, east on East Ave., south on Union St., then west on Adventure Place. The parade ends at Dr. MLK Park at 353 Court Street.

The Pride Parade steps off at 1 p.m.
Puerto Rican Parade - August 3, 2024

Carifest Parade - August 10, 2024
The Carifest parade steps of at 11 a.m. at the corner of Broad and Plymouth. The parade proceeds east on Broad and finishes at Dr. MLK Jr. Park, 353 Court St.

Labor Day Parade - September 2, 2024
The Labor Day Parade steps off at 11 a.m. at the corner of East & Alexander, heads west on Main St., finishes at Main & St. Paul Street.

Veterans Day Parade - Nov. 9, 2024
The Veteran's Day Parade steps off at Goodman and Pinetum, proceeds west on Highland, turns south on South, and turns east into Highland Park.
