(Friday, Oct. 31, 2014) – The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management will coordinate a first responder, multi-agency joint training exercise from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, which will close several streets near the new Regional Transit Service (RTS) Transit Center on St. Paul Street.

This exercise will include simulated explosions, simulated gunfire and a number of police officers and first responders utilizing a full range of tactical equipment.
Residents and other stakeholders in the exercise area are being informed of the exercise by the Rochester Police Department (RPD). RTS, which will not use the new Transit Center until Nov. 28, expects minimal disruption to its service.

The RPD will establish a perimeter around the exercise area to restrict vehicular and pedestrian traffic. As the scenario permits, the traffic points will be opened to those wishing to visit a destination within the exercise area. Road blocks will be established at these intersections:

• East Main Street and St. Paul Street
• East Main Street and North Clinton Avenue
• Franklin Street and Liberty Pole Way
• Franklin Street and Pleasant Street
• Franklin Street and Andrews Street
• Andrews Street and North Clinton Avenue
• Andrews Street and St. Paul Street

Eastbound and Westbound traffic will be allowed on Andrews Street and East Main Street.
