News Release - Theodore Jordan of RochesterWorks! to Speak to Youth and Adults Seeking a Fresh Start

(Friday, Feb. 13, 2015) – RochesterWorks! Youth Services Manager, Theodore Jordan, will be the guest speaker at an Operation Transformation Rochester (OTR) Talk event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 14 at the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center Auditorium, 161 Chestnut Street.

At RochesterWorks!, Jordan  works with schools, employers, community based organizations and the government to provide youth with the skills they need to find employment with career potential. In his talk, Jordan will give an overview of the range of services available to youth through RochesterWorks! This talk is free and the public is welcome to attend. OTR Talks will take place on the second Saturday of each month.

Operation Transformation Rochester is the City’s new approach to helping youth and adults make connections and gain the skills needed to find and keep a job through a series of programs designed to fit an individual’s needs.

The OTR Fresh Start program helps adult men and women in need of their TASC (formerly GED) prepare for and take the test which is a critical requirement for sustainable employment. Participants receive guidance and support from mentors and OTR staff as they prepare.
