College Town Job Fair to be Held March 3, 2015

-Hundreds of New Jobs Coming to College Town-

(Friday, Feb. 20, 2015) – The College Town Rochester development team will host another job fair to help continue the hiring process for the many new businesses at the 500,000-square-foot mixed-use project. College Town, located at the corner of Elmwood and Mt. Hope Avenues, includes a mix of retail, dining, lodging and services, creating an “urban village” for students, residents and visitors.

“College Town is bringing hundreds of jobs to Rochester, which is adding safety and vitality to our neighborhoods and making them better places for our children to grow and learn,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “I would like to thank the development team and our community partners for organizing this job fair to connect hundreds of local youth, students and adult job seekers to these employment opportunities.”

The College Town Rochester Job Fair will be held from 3 to 7pm, March 3, 2015 at St. Anne Church, 1600 Mt. Hope Avenue. Hundreds of permanent jobs are being created or retained at College Town, most in the grocery and hospitality industries, along with retail, restaurant and professional services at the 14-acre site, owned by the University of Rochester.

Employers that will be on-site include: the Hilton Garden Inn, Constantino’s Market, Insomnia Cookies, The Beer Market and many others. Attendees should be at least 16 years old and are encouraged to bring copies of their resume along with a pen and a notebook.

“The College Town Rochester Job Fair is a great opportunity for all of the employers at College Town and we’re grateful for the City’s partnership in promoting this event. This event will link new College Town businesses with the workforce who will help implement and sustain the new hotel, grocery store, and other shops and restaurants,” said Adam Branscomb of Fairmount Properties.

The planning and vision for College Town is a result of the collaboration of the University of Rochester, the City of Rochester, development partners Fairmount Properties and Gilbane Development and Mt. Hope neighborhood leaders. The development will become a gateway to the River Campus and to the Medical Center and enhance connections to nearby neighborhoods.
