News Release - Windstream Party in the Park Continues Thursday with Music by Keller Williams and More Than a Little

(Wednesday, June 29, 2016) - Mayor Lovely A. Warren invites the community to the Windstream Party in the Park concert at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park on Thursday, June 30 with music by Keller Williams and More Than a Little (funk).

Doors open at 5 p.m., music starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, located at the corner of Chestnut Street and Court Street Downtown. The 2016 Party in the Park line-up features a diverse array of music, including blues, funk, rock, reggae and classic rock. Remaining concerts are as follows:

• Hotel California: The Original Eagles Tribute, Thursday, July 7
• Gin Blossoms (indie rock), Thursday, July 14
• Lou Gramm: The Voice of Foreigner then; 10,000 Maniacs (classic rock),Thursday, July 21
• Robert Randolph & The Family Band (rock, blues, funk, R&B), Thursday, July 28
• The Chris Robinson Brotherhood (trippy, soulful rock), Thursday, Aug. 4
• The Wailers (reggae), Thursday, Aug. 11

MVP Healthcare joins Windstream as an event partner again this year and MVP brings back its Family Fun Zone each week, featuring on-site kid-friendly activities. iHeart Media and NEWS10NBC are the exclusive radio and television sponsors, respectively. New this season, Rochester Regional Health Systems join as a sponsor.

Patrons of Party in the Park can also be spectators of the Bocce League of Rochester games that will be played on site at 6 p.m. Weekly prizes will be awarded to winning teams.

Food by local food trucks and vendors as well as local beer from Genesee Brewing Co. will be available for purchase.

Individual, general admission tickets for Party in the Park are $5 (children 12 and under are free). A ‘Party Pass’ is available for $35, which provides tickets to all remaining shows and access to an express entry line at each concert. Tickets and passes can be purchased at the gate through Ticketmaster (ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000 with associated service charges) or at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial box office, 100 Exchange Blvd. Members of The Strong can buy a Party Pass for $30 (a $15 discount) at The Strong Everything for Play! Shop, 1 Manhattan Square Dr.

Patrons may bring one sealed bottle of water into the Party in the Park concerts. Lawn chairs, bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates and pets will not be allowed in.

Parking is available at nearby parking garages including the Washington Square Garage, 111 Woodbury Blvd.; the Court Street Garage, 194 Court St. and at the East End Garage, 475 E. Main St. Parking will also be available at The Strong, 1 Manhattan Square.
