 (Friday, July 14, 2017) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren today announced the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) City of Rochester Library Workers Local 828 Unit 7420, which represents 129 part-time employees serving the Central Library and ten City branch libraries, unanimously voted and ratified their collective bargaining agreement on July 13, 2017.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members and leadership of the CSEA City of Rochester Library Workers Local 828 Unit 7420 for their dedicated service to the citizens of Rochester,” said Mayor Warren. “Our Central and City branch libraries are crucial to not only a better quality of life for residents, businesses and visitors but also to our mission of creating more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities.”

“This agreement is a victory for decent wages and improved working conditions,” said CSEA Spokesperson Ove Overmyer. “CSEA is especially thankful for a terrific partnership with library management and City Hall. This is a fair deal that helps workers improve their lives so they can continue to deliver the high quality of library services our community has come to know, love and respect.”

The contract expires June 30, 2021.
