News Release

(Friday, Aug. 25, 2017) — City of Rochester Communications Director James Smith today announced that Mayor Lovely A. Warren remains in the hospital due to the lingering effects of an allergic reaction.

“While Mayor Warren has improved greatly, she continues to have lingering effects from her allergic reaction and her physicians are not ready to discharge her at this time,” said Communications Director James Smith. “The Mayor is on her way to a full recovery and is hopeful she will be released over the weekend to finish recuperating at home with her family.”

The Mayor is being treated in Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

“The Mayor, who has continued working during her hospital stay and has remained in full contact with City Hall these past few days, is looking forward to resuming her public schedule once she is cleared by her doctors,” added Smith. “She is grateful for the community support she has received and would like to thank the many well-wishers who have contacted City Hall.”
