City of Rochester
News Release
(Wednesday, August 30, 2017) - Our community has lost a true
fighter, who for two years held her own in one of the worst fights anyone can
face: Cancer.
Lauren loved her family, and loved life. There's a Chinese
proverb that reads: "Better to light a candle than to curse the
darkness," and Lauren shone brightly, bringing hope to everyone who had
the pleasure of knowing her. Our community laughed and cried with her during
her public battle with cancer until the very end.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the Morelle family,
including Majority Leader Morelle, Mary Beth, Lauren's husband Nate, her
brothers Joseph and Nicholas, and most of all, Lauren's two young children, Arabella and
Jonas. At times like these we must hold our loved ones tighter, support them,
and help them to see the light through any darkness.
