News Release

(Friday, Sept. 8, 2017) - The non-profit Friends of the Rochester Public Market will host the 13th annual Artist Row Public Market Art Fair, a juried art show and celebration of art and community, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the City of Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St. Admission and parking are free.

“Artist Row is a great way for citizens to come together to celebrate our many talented local artists -- at one of Rochester’s most popular destinations,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “Thanks to the Friends of the Public Market, citizens are able to enjoy this free, family-friendly event while supporting our arts community and food vendors. Events like this add richly to the quality of life in Rochester, in turn bolstering our efforts to create safer more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities in our city.”

This year’s Artist Row will feature more than 180 local artists and artisans, live music and food and beverage options at the Market’s prepared food vendors and at local food trucks. Last year’s Artist Row drew approximately 20,000 art enthusiasts.

“When Artist Row began in 2005, we saw the Market as our community’s natural gathering place,” said 2017 Chairperson, Matt Rogers. “It was the first venue to feature local emerging artists. Artist Row has grown every year, drawing a larger and more diverse following.”

Artist Row was founded in 2005 by the Friends of the Rochester Public Market with support from the City of Rochester. Proceeds support the Friends of the Public Market’s token program, Veggie Valet, market trolley and other efforts to promote and support the City of Rochester Public Market.

Major underwriting for Artist Row is being provided by Summit Federal Credit Union, with additional support from the City of Rochester and the Friends of the Rochester Public Market.
