Motorist Advisory - Broad Street Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project to Cause Closure

City of Rochester  Motorist Advisory

(Friday, Oct. 6, 2017) – The Broad Street bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 as the Broad Street Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project continues. Weather or other delays may cause the bridge to be closed during the same hours on Thursday and Friday. During the evening, after 6 p.m., one lane in each direction will be open. Temporary and partial traffic lane and sidewalk closures are expected to occur until the end of November.

Drivers and pedestrians should expect traffic delays at either side of the bridge at South Avenue and Exchange Street during this time. The Court Street and Main Street bridges may be used as detours.

The Broad Street Bridge Preventive Maintenance Project involves concrete repairs at bridge substructures; drainage repairs; new bridge railing; replacement of sidewalks; bridge deck rehabilitation; and approach street milling and paving with new sidewalks, curbing and street lighting.

RTS riders may call 288-1700 or visit www.RGRTA.com for more information, detour routes.
