Demolition of the properties that needed to be acquired to construct the project improvements began in May 2004.
Construction of the West Ridge Road project improvements is

The combined project demolition and construction costs are approximately $17 million.

How is this project being paid for?
A:
State and Federal Highway monies are paying for the majority of the project costs (approximately 92%).
City of Rochester funds are also being used to cover
the remaining 8% of the local project costs.

Will there be detours and road closings?
A:
It is intended to maintain access along the West Ridge Road and Lake Avenue corridors throughout the majority of the project construction. Any lane shifts or closures will be properly delineated and signed well in advance of the construction work zone.
Throughout the 2 year construction process, there will be some isolated periods were temporary closures or detours are needed. However, it is intended to limit these occurrences to short term durations during off peak travel periods.
