The entrance to the City of Rochester will be defined by a new gateway pedestrian bridge over West Ridge Road. This new bridge with it’s historic tower’s, arched steel beams and grand stair cases will provide a signature pedestrian bridge welcoming visitors to the “ Flower City”.
The new bridge will meet current Americans with Disability Act Guidelines (ADA),
providing an improved link between the residential neighborhoods to the south and playground, and Maplewood Park located just north of West Ridge Road.
The new bridge towers will
have open arched entrances and windows with medina stone colored
coining. The patina colored roof and aesthetic lighting will further
establish this bridge as a “gateway”
to the City of Rochester and the Maplewood Community.
