West Ridge Road will be realigned and greatly enhanced to promote slower speeds and improved safety. New sweeping curves and a beautifully landscaped median will be constructed to the east of Lake Avenue to create a “transition zone” between the higher speed expressway environment to the east of this project and the at -grade commercial/residential section located to the west.

The new roadway will improve the flow of vehicles through this vital link to
the City of Rochester through such enhancements as;

• A new left turn lane for those vehicles traveling east on West Ridge Road wanting to turn left onto Lake Avenue northbound.
  
  
• Two westbound left turn lanes on West Ridge Road at the Ridgeway Avenue intersection
  
  
  
• New traffic signs and new signalized intersections will be provided to guide travelers through these busy intersections and to the Port of Rochester.
  
  
  
• New pavement with new curbs and sidewalks along West Ridge Road, beginning at Hanford Landing Road and extending to the Veterans Memorial Bridge, will improve the driver and pedestrian movements through the corridor.
