GIS is a powerful mapping tool used by many departments for asset management, data visualization, and spatial analytics. The City is building an Enterprise GIS by consolidating GIS support and technical management in the Department of Information Technology. The resulting system will serve as an important part of our IT infrastructure as we continue to move towards modern information and management systems. It will also increase accountability and transparency by giving the public immediate access to public records through web applications.
