A
2010 Salute to Eastman Kodak Company
The City of Rochester is pleased to
recognize Eastman Kodak Company for their generous contributions
and commitment to the success of “Rochester 2010: The Renaissance.” Eastman
Kodak will award $500,000 over five years to support the revitalization
of the City — surpassing any other single corporate gift
received so far.
The Kodak grant supports two campaigns — Campaign Three:
Health, Safety and Responsibility, and Campaign Nine: Healthy
Urban Neighborhoods. Kodak solicits proposals from each of
the ten NBN sectors and funding decisions are made by a joint
Kodak and City board. The grants are then paid directly to
the NBN sectors.
|
| To date, the funds have been used to support
the Rochester Police Department Drug Summit, efforts to assist
elderly and disabled neighbors, to recruit and train Public
Safety Committee resource persons, to purchase bicycles and
other gear for police officers, to establish neighborhood gardens,
to help the Teen Job Corps, to purchase and install benches
at bus stops and to support a summer festival to bring neighborhoods
together. |
“Kodak
has always been and continues to be, one of our greatest corporate
benefactors. The grants received will certainly be of great
value to each City sector as we move forward together to implement
“Rochester 2010: The Renaissance.”
— Former Mayor William A. Johnson, Jr.

“The Eastman Kodak Renaissance 2010 Grant represents a significant
contribution to the “Rochester 2010: The Renaissance” in
facilitating the involvement of neighbors in the implementation
of the Plan.”
— Jacquie Whitfield, Director of Special Projects, City of
Rochester, NY

The
vitality of this community is as important to Kodak,
as Kodak’s
vitality is to Rochester. With neighbors truly building their
own neighborhoods, it is the grassroots nature of this
program that Kodak believes will guarantee its success.”
— Essie
Calhoun, Director of Community Relations and Vice President,
Eastman Kodak Company
