The Rochester Police Deapartment's Operation Cool Down focuses on building relationships with residents, putting safety first and decreasing violence in communities.
A video on the Operation produced by the Bureau of Communications includes input on the program’s progress from Mayor Thomas S. Richards, Police Chief James Sheppard, officers and residents.
The information provided in the video gives viewers a better understanding of the goals of Operation Cool Down, why it is needed and the impact it is having.
Part of this video follows Sgt. Kara Anglin as she takes the time to explain the 2012 Cool Down to local business owners. She also gives owners posters to hang in store windows to encourage help with the Cool Down. (Click image of poster on right to download a printable version.)
The efforts of the officers participating in Operation Cool Down have already been noticed and have received positive feedback.
