Superstars of Service
awards are given by the City of Rochester
to City employees who perform exceptional
community service beyond the call of duty.
Mayor
William A. Johnson, Jr., presented the award
to:
Lieutenant
Stephen Erb
Lt.
Erb is responsible for working with the
state of New York to train and certify Fire
Department personnel as emergency medical
techicians.
The
Rochester Fire Department's Continuing Medical
Education (CME) program is by far the largest
in the state. Lt. Erb coordinates training
for 353 people working multiple shifts at
multiple stations. According to a state
auditor, "the Rochester Fire Department
should be considered the model for CME programs
across New York State.
Without
Lt. Erb's persistent efforts, I don't think
the RFD program would be where it is today |
