Why Recreation Centers on wheels?

ROTM 5-11-animatedThe gleaming Recreation on the Move mobile recreation centers bring the offerings and benefits of City Recreation Centers right to city neighborhoods. Recreation on the Move increases the access to and knowledge of the many healthy, educational and fun activities that City Recreation provides; will promote visits to Recreation Centers; and will provide information about other City-provided and other leisure–time alternatives available to them. Recreation on the Move embodies the City's commitment to youth in all its neighborhoods.

Research indicates that youth and families that make meaningful connections with Recreation staff are likelier to engage in other recreation services and programs offered by the City. Youth involvement in after school activity is integral to reducing juvenile delinquency.  The mobile units give youth and their families a safe and comfortable neighborhood location for youth to enjoy physically, mentally, and socially stimulating and healthy activity!
