Enjoy the water, learn to swim!
The City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation encourages all city youth and adults to become skilled swimmers and seize the opportunity to enjoy the water.
Through its Swim Academy, the City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation offers free youth swim lessons throughout the year. Adult lessons are sometimes offered as well, as is lifeguarding training each spring (call 428-7888 or 428-7456 for more information).
Lifeguarding Prep Class
This program allows aspiring lifeguards to build their swimming skills in preparation for lifeguarding classes which begin in March. Classes begin on Tuesday December 2 and run every Tuesday till February 23
Summer Swim Academy
R-Centers Summer Swim Academy offers free swim lessons for youth 6-18 and low-priced lessons for adults. Lessons are offered at six different skill levels and at several conveniently located indoor and outdoor pools around the City. For adult lessons, call 428-7456.
