City of Rochester

News Release

(Monday, Dec. 17, 2018) – Governor Andrew Cuomo’s 2019 Justice Agenda will advance the rights of New York State’s LGBTQ community by passing the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act and ending conversion therapy. As elected officials representing the city of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony, we are fully aware that the fight for social justice and civil rights is not over, and we are proud and grateful to include Governor Cuomo as a committed partner in that fight. We look forward to the day we can all celebrate the adoption of these progressive laws, which will extend the rights that have been afforded for many years to our LGBTQ neighbors in Rochester to all New Yorkers.
