News Release - Free Pet Adoption Event at Animal Services Center

City of Rochester

News Release

(Wednesday, April 3, 2019) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren announced today that Rochester Animal Services will host a one-day, free pet adoption event. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Rochester Animal Services Center, 184 Verona St.

Thanks to support from Petco Foundation, adoption fees will be waived for all cats and dogs six months of age and older that are adopted on Saturday.

Please bring a collar and leash or pet carrier to ensure that pets are transported to their new homes safely. Visitors will be allowed access to the building in small groups to minimize stress on the animals.

Please be prepared for the weather and waiting in line outside of the shelter. Citizens are advised to plan for traffic delays and road closings associated with the AHA Heart Walk and 5K. Consider taking alternate routes to access the Animal Services Center on Verona Street by way of Jay Street.
